Enrollment Fees & Tuition

Tuition and Fees

Fees and cost for initial registration primarily include an application processing fee, a registration fee and an annual fee. Once the student’s application is approved, the process then addresses the tuition and transportation and lunch fees, alongside the AGS membership fee that covers internet use library subscriptions.

The payment process differs depending on the student’s situation. If the student in question is currently enrolled at AGS or has been one of its students over the past school year, the payment process in their case is different than that of a new arrival. Application and Registration fees are not paid by continuing students.

The Application Processing fee for the 2023/24 School Year is 50 cedis. This fee is payable when an application is submitted to the Admission Office and is not refundable.

The Registration fee for the 2023/24 School Year is {please call}. This one-time fee is payable the first year a student enrolls in Grades Kindergarten through 9 and is not refundable unless the new student withdraws within the first 3 days of enrollment.

Transportation coupons are sold based on the no. of days and will be prorated based upon the number of days of attendance. Parents buy the coupons in bulk and the students use the coupons as need. This allows for flexibility for parents who drop of their children in the mornings and the children use the bus in the afternoons.

In the event of circumstances not foreseen when fees were set, the Board of Trustees reserves the right to increase or revise fees at any time during the school year.

Lunch fees are charged based on the grade level of the child. There is the Pre-School (Junior) Lunch coupon, The Primary School Lunch Coupon and the Junior High School coupon.

Lunch is not compulsory but highly encouraged since it serves as a bonding process for children and also allows staff to correct eating habits and promote healthy eating habits.

Fees Explained

AGS reinvests all of its income into the school, recognizing that teachers have the single most significant impact on learning. In a typical school year 70-75% of the tuition income is allocated to salaries and benefits. This investment in quality education allows us to attract and retain these best and brightest teachers, while maintaining a student-teacher ratio of 10 students to 1 teacher school-wide. Over the past year, we invested in many capital projects as we continue to implement our rolling facilities master plan. Recent Capital projects include the School Cafeteria renovation, the construction of Car Parks and Library and Science Laboratories, Multipurpose sports courts, the installation of new bathroom fixtures and CCTV surveillance and perimeter enhancements, as well as ongoing facilities improvements such as increasing our electric capacity through solar, painting and other smaller projects.

Payment Methods

There are quite a few payment methods that ensure both your satisfaction and ours, whether it is through wire transfers, on-campus payments, direct bank deposits and electronic money transfer (MOMO), it is possible to explore any of the options so long as the due deadlines are met. Overdue payments may incur a late payment fee and early payments may be rewarded.
