Junior High School

Program

The goal of Accra Grammar School is to educate children so they can compete any(where+time+day) worldwide. In accordance with this philosophy we offer an international curriculum designed specifically to meet this objective. The curriculum benefits from mathematical methods from Singapore, English teaching ideas from the United Kingdom, Social studies subjects form the Ghana Education Syllabus and several other areas. This way we get a complete global citizen at the end. In the Elementary school our focus is primarily on English Language, Mathematics and critical thinking skills it consumes nearly 70% of the workload and all subjects are taught with this focus in mind, however in the middle school there is more subject definition and a preparation for Senior High School work is initiated.

The Junior High School is committed to equipping our students with the tools and required grades in the national (BECE) exam to enable them secure admissions into some of the most prestigious Senior High Schools in the country. We also recognize we need to prepare students who opt out of the national exam to be able to compete in Cambridge and IB/AP curriculums if they choose to.

The junior high school does only subject level teaching and hence uses subject level graduates specialists from grade 6 upwards.
